The lift door opened. As soon as i stepped out, the redolent smell of my mum's cooking invaded my nostrils. normally, i would be ecstatic. However, i was in a lugubrious mood that day. my sadness was caused by my exam results.being in a highly competitive class, i should have expected it. being too lax in my studies was one of the cause, but not to mention the number of brainy genuises in my class.
Standing at my house doorstep, i hesitated, before fumbling in my pocket for my keys. i was greeted by my pesky little brother, his screaming nearly made me deaf. i looked at the table with a sumptous spread. usually, i was abstemious in my diet, but i unknowingly stuffed myself full.
sensing something was wrong, my mother asked "are you okay dear?"
i nodded my head.
"how was school today?" she probed further.
" oh my, its such a sultry day, i've got to grab an ice cream."i answered, in an attempt to escape answering the question.

A wave of nostalgia washed over me as i strolled down the sidewalk leadng to my primary school. i remembered that the school rules were very restrictive, due to the fact that truancy was rife at that time. nevertheless, i still enjoyed school life.
being blunt in speech, i had offended a number of classmates. As such, they had given me a very interesting nickname: chilli padi. it was nothing to be proud of as word spreaded around the school compound and everybody in school would take great pleasure in shouting:" hello, chilli padi" then bursting into laughter. how embarrassing. truth be told, i enjoyed being called "chilli padi", it landed me in the centre of attention. i was among the "lucky few" to have adopted a nickname.
another classmate of mine, who was a mendacious person had a nickname called pinocchio.

The scientist chuckled crazily as he mixed one chemical with another.

it started bubbling profusely, subsequently, exploding in a myraid of colours. he took the test tube and examined it with great interest. afterwhich, he deemed the whole experiment a successful one. finally, he had concocted the solution to curing the infectious disease. with such a great achievement, most scientists would have proclaim themselves to be the the best. however, the scientist had remained humble, knowing that he had possessed the innate ability of concocting new solutions to various diseases. it was sheer hardwork that had landed him in the glory of sucess after numerous abortive attempts. he had once craved for the attention of the media and now, with the new medicine ,he had become the centre of attention of the medicine industry.

The plan I had concocted was simply impeccable. I had evaluated it many times and had scrutinised every detail. It was all thanks to the gullible boy who told us where his sweets were. "Muah hahaha!" i chuckled. Together with my girlfriends, we snuck into the class during recess. My mind was filled with lollipops various flavours and me and the girls exulting over our victory....... I licked my lips dreamily.
"Hey! Snap out of it! we have to hurry!"
"Oh yes." i fumbled in the boy's bag. Left....... right....." wait a second, what's this?" i mumbled under my breath. It felt smooth and hard. i pulled the object out and gasped in horror. It was a gun!

Lola, lila, lola, lila..... Just who is who? Well, its easy to differentiate with the exception of looks. That's right, lila and lola are a pair of twins!Lila is the smarter of the two.Just a cursory glance at even the hardest of math problems and there you go, she had already figured out the answers. However, lola, the gregarious twin, was the antithesis of lila, the reticent one.Almost everybody in class are good friends with her, compared to lila, who only makes friends who are within 4 metre radii around her.
You might be wondering, they must have something in common.Indeed, threre is. lila and lola display altrusisim and virtuosity. It is no wonder everybody adores them.
