day9
this picture depicts a scene where a few students are conducting a life science experiment. all the students are don in white coats and gloves and are concentrating on their work.the student in the middle is spraying distilled water frm a bottle that is labelled "distilled water". judging from the smiles on the students, they must enjoy hands on.
i would like to study medicine. as it is interesting and allows me to cure patients and relieve them of their illnesses.
day 7
this picture depicts a scene of a science lab . i think it invovles the residents as i see many people wearing casual clothes. perhaps they are cleaning and disinfecting the hawker centre situated below a hdb block as i can see soap and water flooding the ground.this may be a precaution towards the ongoing bird flu. spraying water on seats and table, drying up the floor are alll part of the procedure as i can see some people doing these jobs.i can see people at the background ,perhaps they are curious. maybe after seeing this act of safety precaution, they may keep in mind that hygiene is crucial in the battle of bird flu and may put in effort to improve their personal hygiene.
i feel that i am indeed a rather untidy person, you should have seen my study table, strewn with books and littered with worksheets. one may actually mistake it for a rubbish dump. lately, i have been trying to become more organised and tidy, but its not easy. i would try to sweep my bedroom and my study table ,clear unecessary stuff and do some paperwork. in my opinion, hygiene is important as it it keeps sicknesses at bay , and it makes a place more comfortable to live in.on the other hand, being overly concerned about hygiene makes one paranoid.
day 5
this picture depicts a scene where a few students and a teacher conducting a science experiment. the woman may be thinking, no harm trying, its ok to make mistakes. she seems to be handing the string of the pulley towards the boy, who is titing his head ,perhaps to get a clearer view, and at the same time, stretching out his hand. beside the woman, a girl seems hesitant and may bemaking a move towards the string but is interrupted by the woman. i believe that this may bea group work and that everybody is assisgned a job. as i can see a boy taking down the results and making notes of the experiment with another boy. i thin the teacher may be busy preparing materials on conducting this experimet with her class. i can see that none of the students are smiling as they are concentrating on the experient and listening attentively to the teacher.
i enjoy biology as it relates to everyday life and allows us to know more about the human body. the practiclas and the experiments helped us in our learining journey and also allows us to have a better understanding through hands on. at the same time discover more interesting facts about biology.
day 3
this picture depicts a scene of a group of children making a sandcastle at a beach.all the children and the woman are squatting down , with a pile of sand in the middle.the children are all eager to start, with heir hands placed on the ple of sand, perhaps to add more sand to it.at the right hand side of the picture, i see a woman don in shirt ,jeans and a hat briefing them on the procedures and mybe render her assistance if the children have any difficulties. at the background of the picture, i can see another group of children building sandcastles and are already hard at work. if the weather permits, the children may go off riding on a bicycle or swim in the sea.
there was this one time last year where i took part in a calligraphy competition at bukit batok community club.i wasserious about it and made time to practice writing calligraphy to try to improve my standards. o that day, i was nervous when i saw the many other competitors , a mix of sec and pri school students and i i must admit , some pri school sudent's writings are better than mine. wel, since i am aleady there, i guess there is no harm trying. as the competition started i could feel the excitement building up inside me. i did try my best and despie he fact that i did not win any prizes. i seriously hope that one day it will be my turn on thet stage, bringing glory to my school.overall, i do like to compete to a certain extent as you gain experience and improve on my shortcomings.
i agree with that statement. as children are young and innocent, being able to take part in outdoor activties, allows them to interact with people and widen their social circle.foster relationship between friends. gain insight and get to know people from all walks of life.it also promotes healthy lifstyle to the children.
-fun and interactive
-they get the thrill and satisfaction on being able to achieve something in the virtual worldthat they have not been able to in the real world.
-too much computer games cause them to be addicted and neglect their school work. as a result they are unable to perform well.
- waste time as time taken to play computer games can be used to enrich themselves such as reading books
-too tired and unable to concentrate in class.
day 1
This picture depicts a scene of an nursing home. i can see that most of the elderly are on wheelchairs and are engaged in some kind of bonding activity.at the left hand side of the picture, a woman in a uniform perhaps a nurse, is throwing a ball towards a bespectacled woman. she raises both her hands to catch the ball. many of the elderly have a serious expression on their faces. nevertheless, i believe that they have enjoyed themselves thoroughly. i notice that all of the elderly have thier eyes fixed on the nurse who is throwing the ball. they must have looked forward to this activity. at the background of the picture, is a handbar and a full length mirror. this may be one of the many facilities that the nursing home has to train these wheelchair bound elderly in walking. to me, a residents day may be only taking part in meaningful activities, eating and sleeping and call it a day.i think that what these elderly need is the companion , love and concern of their family members.
my maternal grandmother is the perfect example of one is who active and has a "never say die" attitude. despite having illnesses, she remains unfazed and continues to persue a healthy lifestyle. every morning, she makes a it a habit to go to the wet market by walking and taking the long route as a form of excercise.
