day 1
This picture depicts a scene of an nursing home. i can see that most of the elderly are on wheelchairs and are engaged in some kind of bonding activity.at the left hand side of the picture, a woman in a uniform perhaps a nurse, is throwing a ball towards a bespectacled woman. she raises both her hands to catch the ball. many of the elderly have a serious expression on their faces. nevertheless, i believe that they have enjoyed themselves thoroughly. i notice that all of the elderly have thier eyes fixed on the nurse who is throwing the ball. they must have looked forward to this activity. at the background of the picture, is a handbar and a full length mirror. this may be one of the many facilities that the nursing home has to train these wheelchair bound elderly in walking. to me, a residents day may be only taking part in meaningful activities, eating and sleeping and call it a day.i think that what these elderly need is the companion , love and concern of their family members.
my maternal grandmother is the perfect example of one is who active and has a "never say die" attitude. despite having illnesses, she remains unfazed and continues to persue a healthy lifestyle. every morning, she makes a it a habit to go to the wet market by walking and taking the long route as a form of excercise.
